You Can't Stop the Beat!

Every year, De La Salle Zobel (my school) holds a musical for entertainment and fund raising. A few examples would be, Grease, The King and I, Once on this Island, Pippin', and a lot more than I can mention. This year, however, was a little different because La Salle was celebrating it's centennial year. In honor of this, the president of the school requested a musical revue that consisted of songs from almost every show they've done since theater was born in DLSZ. I worked really hard in hope of becoming one of the lead singers in this show. Thankfully, my time spent on practice paid off, and I was given a role.

So, for this year's show, they entitled our musical revue, "You Can't Stop the Beat!"- that being our finale song.

Here are a few pictures -

"Never Walk Alone"
At our final show we were delighted by the surprise of
our director, Michael Williams, singing for the first and (hopefully) not the last time.

"We Kiss in the Shadows"
This was my first song in the show. Trying to look in love,
and not giggle, was tricky for the both of us cause it was the first time
we've both done this. The first few tries were just plain silly.

"Wicked Medley"
(My favorite!)
This shot was taken during the song "One Short Day"
I was singing "Defying Gravity" during this bit.
Oh, that song gives me goosebumps!

"Seasons of Love"
We all loved this song and begged for it to be put in the show.
I was given the opportunity to sing one of the solos.

"You Can't Stop the Beat"
Our finale!!
